RPC 2005-2007 Reminiscing the Past

Reminiscing the past.... learning from the past.
Chaos RPC 2005: Ascension vs Brotherhood vs Apocalypse
The defense was anchored by wizards and trap hunters. The key was to to protect your kafra warp point at the second or third map of the agit to replenish the defense as there was no GuildMaster EC skill. Slayers include Monks and Blacksmiths. Support was limited to the Priests as 2-2 jobs were limited. Knight loaded guilds like Grand Lethal and Remarque perfected the renowned Brandish Spear Wall to protect portals. The hammerfall skill used by Blacksmiths were deadly as Orc Hero Cards and stun-proof (Vit) builds were rare.
The offense was dictated by the number of Vit Knights available in the guild. Can you still remember the rumble caused by 200+ Vit-Knights marching at your gates? Siege strategies got formulated during these times like Emperium Hostage(for agit passing) and 3rd Room or Gate Lockdown. Warp point sabotage, Emblem copying and other forms of "cheating" were also in effect.
The Turning point was the Battle of Bergel (GSIS was holding a 100 Eco Agit). It was taken down by a massive attack from the Brotherhood faction. I remember this siege so well as my former guild Insurrection was stationed at the second portal when we got run over by Armada and Alliance. Armada took over the second portal and filtered GSIS while Brotherhood Knights went straight to the emp room and took down the undermanned defenders. After this, GSIS lost the foothold and Apocalypse managed to barge-in as the second AgitLords representative behind Mors Mortis Angels.
Chaos RPC 2006: Finality versus Blood Pact
The defense was anchored by Bragi powered Wizards, A Clown-Gypsy Roki's wail at the portal, and a backline of Strippers, SD Assassin Crosses and Whitesmiths. Slayers include the Asura-Champ due to the fact that the GR card was still pretty rare. Just like the RPC 2005, WoE was a numbers game and Agits were defended at every portal. The key was controlling the gates of the agits; whoever controls the gates … can gain control of the other rooms. Remember the Battle for the Gates at Skeogul? =)
The offense was anchored by tanks Led by Knights and Paladins. This RPC was the advent of the transcended jobs, specialized characters were being created for purposes of sieging alone…botting was at its peak. Led by LP Professors, FJ Clowns, Scream Gypsies, Meltdown Whitesmiths and Slimpitch Biochemists…the pure support jobs were key in dismantling defenses. Another key offensive strategy was the wanderman card which transported characters to another room within the agit…. this was abused and was later deactivated. Stalker GMs were on the rise as the ability to hide and EC at a strategic point was an advantage.
The turning point was the Burning of Skeogul (GL held a 100 Eco agit when they burned it themselves). The Finality faction was holding a Scoring Agit however they felt that the offensive attacks of Bloodpact was gaining ground so instead of risking it being used by the other group, they decided to just burn it themselves. Many felt this was one of the turning points of the war….they burned down an Scoring agit way too early. Bloodpact managed to turn Skeogul to a scoring agit again and push for a second AgitLord entry Untouchables and block Shadow Circle.
Baldur RPC 2007: Itlogs vs Team Loki vs United Chaos vs Armed and Loaded Alliance
The defense were anchored on Devo/Bragi powered wizards backed by Biochemist AB-bombers. The rise of the Linker GM made EC a staple in defenses as it was easier to get inside the emp area by leaping thru portal lockdowns. Replenishing defenders was easier.
The offense was less in the hands of tank Lord Knights but more in the hands of the support classes like the Professor, the Gypsy and the Clown. Since the siege population has dipped, there was great importance in maneuverability of guilds. Some guilds were very successful due to their save point supports like save point warpers, save point buffers, save point FCP, and save point repairmen. The Assassin Cross was also a key as Cloaking and EDP gave them the ability to be a one man emp-breaking crew.
The last day of the competition was key in the RPC AL winner. The Carnage guild was pushed by the Itlogs faction with the help of Armada/goonz and several guilds from the United Alliance coalition. They were able to secure several points for Carnage and deny Armed and Loaded some points. In the end Carnage managed to get the 4th slot for the AgitLords campaign.
