Thanatos Tower Quest

Thanks to everyone who joined the expeditions! During the 3rd Expedition we finally succedded to retrive the Black Key on the 9th Floor of the tower. And soon been blessed by another success in our 4th Expedition, when we successfully summon and killed Thanatos!

Sorry this is all I can recall, I've lost my list from the 1st Expedition but please PM me here with the name of the character you've used so I could give you credit. Thanks!

History: Aside from scarce historical documentation and spoken legends, very little is known about Thanatos Tower's Origin. The most widely accepted theory is that the tower was built to honor the legendary magic wielding swordsman Thanatos's victory over Demon King Morroc, an ancient demon that devistated the human world before the millennium war. According to the legends, Thanatos battled Demon King Morroc for 10 days and nights before he sealed it in the sothern Rune-Midgard desert.

Thanatos Tower is an awe inspiring sight today, but it was crumbling ruins when it was rediscovered by the Rekenber Corporation. Interested in extracting its secrets, Rekenber Corporation planned to recontruct all thirteen of the tower's floors and conduct excavations that will continue the artifact research started by the great Save Varmunt. So far, they have restored the tower's lowest floors and had opened them to the public, charging admission to tourists to fund thier continuing renovation efforts.

But one day, a strange flash of lightning, bright enough to be seen in Einbroch, recently struck the top of Thanatos Tower. There are differing accounts of what had happened, but the disaster left only a few survivors, all claiming that demons or angels attacked them. Despite this tragedy, the Rekenber Corporation refuses to give up, and doggedly pursues its goals...

Reaching Thanatos Tower: The tower is located at the most northern part of the Noghaltz Region near Abbys Lake, from Juno take a right turn, the go to the most upper portal and enter the upper portal again. At the northern part of the map, you'll find a Guard, talk to him and pay the admission to enter the tower.

1st Floor: On the 1st Floor, you should see a representative of Rekenber Corporation, Guide (149, 78) just above the entrace looking for volunteers to solve the mysterious disappearance of adventurers inside the tower. Select "Sign Up" the contract and to agree with the terms and condition to proceed to the next level.

2nd Floor: Another staff of Rekenber Corporation will block the portal of the 3rd Floor, you can only enter here if Signed Up with the Guide at the 1st Floor. Burled (231, 161) will also not allow anyone to enter unless you gather 5 or more players, it does'nt matter if the others have a different party. Select "Enter the 3rd Floor" to proceed.

3rd Floor: On 3rd Floor, you'll find a Device (67, 70), equip any Level 4 Weapon to break the force field surrounding the Device. After that, choose the option "Check the Monitor's Storage". You will obtain the Red Key. This key cannot be trade, vend, drop or even put inside the storage, it is advised that if you don't plan on finishing the quest, don't take the keys.

4th Floor: On the 4th Floor you should find another Device (195, 195), the storage system of this machine is very thigh, you have to guess the 3-Digit Password of this machine to get the Yellow Key. You can only have 5 tries, if you don't get it right within the limit, the password will change. Your 3-Digit Password must also be in correct order.

Rules of the Game: You will have 5 chances to guess the correct 3-digit password. You can't use 0 for any of the digits, and the machine can't use the same number for 2 times. The machine will also tell you if you've guessed a correct number, this could be very helpful.

Helpful Hints and Tips:
• Take a piece of paper and number it from 1 ~ 9
• Seperate the numbers into 3 groups, 123, 456, and 789
• Put a parenthesis of a bracket in each set.
• Input each set of numbers into the machine.
• If you have 1 correct or more, put it on top of the corresponding set.
• If you have 0 correct answer, erase that set.
• After doing this, 3 numbers should be left out from the list.
• Guess the correct order, if you're lucky, you'll get the Yellow Key

Fragment Hunting: Starting at the 5th Floor of the tower, you'll need to hunt Thanatos' feelings. They spawn in random location every 30 minutes. They drop fragments, a very important quest item to summon Thanatos himself on the Final Floor. They will always drop a fragment once killed.

5th Floor: On this floor, you see the third Device (101, 37), you and your party members need to step near the device to access it's Storage System. Might need about 3 or more players to access the Device's options. Once done, you'll obtain the Blue Key. Two Dolors also spawns at this floor every 30 minutes, they drops the Fragment of Hatred. Once you obtain the Fragment please proceed to the next level.

6th Floor: The fourth Device (43, 152) is located at this floor. In this machine you need to turn 5 wheels in to their right combination to open the Storage System. The answers are: Up, Down, Reverse, Up, Up. If done correctly, you will obtain the Green Key. Two Maeros also spawns at this floor every 30 minutes, they drops the Fragment of Misery. Once you obtain the Fragment please proceed to the next level.

7th Floor: Only Rebirth characters can enter the 7th Floor of the tower. The portal to this level has a strong barrier, only those who are blessed by the Valkyrie can enter this floor. Once you enter this level, it is impossible to go back to the previous floors because there is'nt an exit to be found. Two Despros also spawns at this floor every 30 minutes, they drop the Fragment of Despair. Please do not enter the portal to the next floor if you have'nt got the fragment yet because you cannot go back to this floor once you entered the portal.

The Haunted Staircase: Upon entering the portal to the 8th Floor, you will be teleported in a huge staircase, you will start to hear creepy whispers if you turn on the Effects on Alt + O. This serves as a waiting room, take advantage of the fact that there is'nt any monsters here to rest and do stuffs. Once you enter this, you can never go back to the previous floor.

9th Floor: On this floor you will find the last Device (19, 168), if you already have the 4 Colored Keys you will obtain the Black Key. Once done with this step, you must return to the previous floors to convert the keys into charm stones. You can also continue the quest the next day if you like, like we did.

Blue Charm Stone: On the 4th Floor you will find the first Seal (150, 44), type in "Blue Key" to convert the said key into a Blue Charm Stone. Once done converting proceed to the next floor.

Red Charm Stone: On the 5th Floor you will find the second Seal (218, 116), type in "Red Key" to convert the said key into a Red Charm Stone. Once done converting proceed to the next floor.

Black Charm Stone: On the 6th Floor you will find the third Seal (226, 230), type in "Black Key" to convert the said key into a Black Charm Stone. Once done converting proceed to the next floor.

Yellow Charm Stone: On the 7th Floor you will find the fourth Seal (112, 129), type in "Yellow Key" to convert the said key into a Yellow Charm Stone. Once done converting proceed to the 10th Floor of the tower.

Green Charm Stone: On the 10th Floor you will find the last Seal (129, 159), type in "Green Key" to convert the said key into a Green Charm Stone. Once done converting proceed to the 12th Floor of the tower.

The Stone Statues: On the 12th Floor of the tower, there are 5 Statues placed around this floor. You need to place one of each charm stone into the correct statue to open the portal to the final level where you can summon Thanatos. Insert the Charm Stones in the Stone Statues in a counterclockwise motion.

First Statue: Insert the Red Charm Stone in the Stone Statue (96, 58)

Second Statue: Insert the Blue Charm Stone in the Stone Statue (104, 18)

Third Statue: Insert the Green Charm Stone in the Stone Statue

Fourth Statue: Insert the Yellow Charm Stone in the Stone Statue (161, 58)

Final Statue: Insert the Black Charm Stone in the Stone Statue (128, 86), By doing this, a portal will open in the center of the map, enter the portal and prepare to summon Thanatos.

13th Floor: This is the Final Floor of the tower, you have to put the Fragments of Thanatos in each of the Seal located in the edges of the tower, it does'nt matter where you put the fragment first, there is no particular order. But there is a rule, you have to put the fragment matching the color of the seal, an option will pop out telling you the color of the seal. Type the correct name of the Fragment and some monster will come out.

Releasing Thanatos: Break the final seal located in the upper part of the map to release Thanatos Phantom. He will spawn in the middle of the map. Get ready to fight! After you defeated Thanatos, after 30 seconds, you will be teleported back to the 12th Floor. Quest Finished!
