“Free to play? At last?!”, “PK enabled??” were the questions that lingered most on the players’ minds.

More information found at Waukster.com a blog owned by Carlo ‘Wauks’ Ople providing great information and support for Ragnarok Online and sneak previews of what’s going to happen in Ragnarok Online II: Gate of the World which is said to come late 2007 to the Philippines but problems with the developers at Gravity in Korea called for a recall of sales for RO2.

Wauks admitted that the Valkyrie server was an ongoing project that was prematurely announced. But that wasn’t so bad cause it got player’s excited about the new oncoming server.

Some server features include:

Aside from being free to play it is PK or Player Killable enabled with maps that consist of all the MVP Boss monster maps and other famous leveling maps as means to avoid botting or auto-leveling without the help of the player.

More features include, a permanent 1.5x experience gain boost than the commercial servers (Baldur, Freya, Tyr), a -5% experience lost on death (in PK maps) and with only 5 character slots available.

There are also skill changes that may prove the server to be challenging. The Teleport skill has been completely removed from the server, and the character classes—Acolyte and Super Novice—that normally have them will not receive them anymore. A compromise for the Acolyte skill tree has been made and the Pneuma skill will lead directly to the Warp Portal skill without having Teleport as a pre-requisite. Also, Butterfly Wings and Fly Wings have been eliminated from the server and NPC vendors will not be selling them anymore nor monsters will drop them.

Reading further from gmtristan.com a blog owned by GM Tristan, a Vanguard of Philippine Ragnarok Online (pRO) and acting brand manager for RO1 (tama ba?) come a list of additional features:

The MVP monsters do not drop boss cards anymore, as with them and normal monsters they cannot drop slotted equipment and weapons anymore—they can be available at the Hypermart or Item Mall using ROK points.

Oridecon and Eluniums also cannot be hunted for anymore, all other items can be found at the Hypermart.

Some technical info:

Valkyrie is already updated with the Rachel patch (as with the commercial servers), LU! will release a 3 CD installer for those who don’t have RO yet and a downloadable 5MB fix for those who do. Characters from the commercial servers or URDR, Sakray and Thor, cannot be migrated to Valkyrie.

Although Valkyrie server may be exciting with all the features the greatest thing about it is that—it’s free.

That’s the first focus of the players’ being loyal customers for the past four years with Ragnarok Online, we’re feeling we kind of have the break we’ve been looking for.

karaniwan po nating nararanasan ang sprite error kapag hindi po fully patched ang ragnarok client natin. pero since sinabi mo namang nag patch ka eh baka may kulang pa.

First, try to patch your main ragnarok client. Ito yung client na ginagamit para makapasok sa 3 main servers (Baldur, Tyr and Freya).
Second, patch your Valkyrie (or Valhalla).

Karaniwan kasi na ang napa-patch lang natin ay ang valkyrie or valhalla at hindi na natin naaalala pang i patch ang main client.

Hanggang kelan po ung problema sa pag log in? Para san po ba bakit mhirap kumonek? nabasa ko po sabi para sa anti bot daw, eh pano nman po kming mga hindi nagbobot, minsan 20 mins po me nag llog in sobra hirap makakonek, sana po maaus npo ung logging problem, tnx po!

Patulong naman po naglalaro po ako ng Ragnarok Online Valkyrie and Surely Fanatic po ako and loyal sa Ragnarok sa mga Computer Shop ako nalalaro ng ragnarok kc walng Internet sa bahay pero ngayon pong nag pakabet na kami ng DSL sa bahay exited ako dahil gusto kong maglaro sa bahay ng Valkyrie pero eversince wala pa pong ragnarok online ung PC ko kasi nga po kakaroon pa lang namin ng DSL sa bahay where do I start pano ako magkakaroon ng ragnarok online sa PC saan ako makakakuha ng CD ng Valkyrie may nababalitaan akong denideliver daw ung CD sa bahay un lng po wala kcng nagbebenta ng CD D2 sa Taytay Rizal Nahihiya naman akong magtanong sa Suki kong Computer shop kung may CD sila Ples po reply gusto ko na po kasing makapaglaro ng Valkyrie sa House namin kaya nga po pinilit ko Si Mommy magpalagay ng DSL para lng sa Ragnarok Online thanks

try mong pumunta sa mga netopia shop then ask for Ragnarok CD. it might cost between 50 to 100 pesos. meron din sa mga bilihan ng pirated game CDs although siguruhin mo lang na official philippine ragnarok client ang kinopyahan at veins CD ito.

puro kayo reklamo kamu noh??? alam nio try nyo kayang solusyunan yang mga problema ninyo... kung talgang marunong kayong gumamit ng mga PC ninyo gawan nio ng paraan, ako nga ngayon lang naglaro ng ragnarok pero lahat ng mga naging prob nasolusyunan ko... marami ring pinoproblema yang mga GM.. kaya pwede ba wag nio nang dagdagan pa... besides its your choice to play this game not them... i hope it can motivate you as a person nalang...

nangyari na sakin dati yan. reply skn ng CS eh baka may spyware or malware daw pc ko. wla kasi akong spyware scanner or antivrus sa pc ko. so ang nangya2ri sa akin lagi kong nire2install ragnarok ko dahil sa error na yan. laging the game or gameguard has been cracked tapos la2bas yang mga numbers letter na nd maintindihan. cympre ang gnwa naglagay na ako ng antivrus and spyware scanner meron nga. tignan mo sau baka meron din kaya nagca-cause ng error na yan. simula nun um-ok na RO ko. =)

download mo lahat ng patches tapus lagay mo sa ragnarok folder mo. I-comment mo yung ibang linya sa patch2.txt sa ragnarok folder mo tapus gawin mong read-only yung file. then open mo yung ragnarok mo. after magpatch, uncomment mo yung kinoment mo previously. tapus rinse and repeat lang until lahat ng patch ay ma-unpack.

Note: iindent mo yung ibang patch sa patch2.txt na nakacomment na. huwag mo tatanggalin comment nun or else masisira patching mo ng ragnarok. heheh uulitin mo kung nagkaganun.

good morning.. i have a problem.. i installed the valkyrie server using the Veins CD, then i patched the valkyrie server.. i logged in and i get sprite errors.. so i patched the pRO client for the 3 servers, then when i try to log-in again, it says failed to connect to server.. sometimes a window pops up and says "failed install".. im connect to PLDT dsl and my internet works fine, i have an OS windows vista home basic.. please help.. what do i need to do?

STORY NG RAGNA

The world of Rune-Midgard has been plunged into a world of darkness, the signs of Ragnarok begin to manifest, and this marks the beginning of the end.

A dark haze surrounds all of Rune-Midgard as the world begins to feel the chaos that Ragnarok brings upon it. Amidst the ensuing storm, swarms of monsters gather and ready themselves for another night of terror.

Screams are then heard in the night as gates are blown open once more by claws and fangs, monsters begin to pile into the cities and slaughter everyone in their way. Heroes gather all across Rune-Midgard in order to try and fend off
their fearful attacks. It is a tireless battle that rages on until sunrise, but eventually the monsters thin, potion bottles run dry as our heroes finish what is to become a battle for Midgard itself. Tired and bruised our heroes rest their weary bodies so that they may prepare for another night of darkness. This scene plays over day after day, each night the monsters come back in hopes that eventually they will be able to raze the city completely.

However, one fateful night after the last monster has fallen in battle, a blinding light shines upon all of Rune-Midgard. A winged woman clothed in light appears before our weary heroes and announces that she is a Valkyrie. A godly being of legend sent to test the mettle of the world’s greatest warriors.

The Valkyrie has been looking for the worthy to bring into the Battlefield of Legends! The battle with monsters was but a test, a test of fate to sift out the brave from the meek. She then gathers the worthy around her great wings and invites them into a world where they can be more that what they already are, where eternal glory and honor await them as they battle to become legends…
